| Young Artist Program
Opera Queensland's Young Artist Program is a unique training program for emerging performers in the field of opera, providing them with a valuable opportunity to refine professional skills. Under the leadership of Program Director, renowned Queensland performer, teacher and creative artist Jason Barry-Smith this comprehensive Program is unique of its kind in Australia. Every year a small group of talented artists is chosen for one of two streams: Young Artist or Developing Artist. Each individual is selected for his or her talent, dedication and professionalism; all possess great potential to make a significant contribution to the operatic artform. Nurturing our developing talent in this way helps to lay a solid foundation for the future health of opera, and as such it is an essential part of the company's vision.
