OPERA QUEENSLAND ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

Opera Queensland has continued to delight and inspire audiences for more than a quarter of a century. What Opera Queensland audiences see and hear is well beyond the ordinary. The magic of opera can inflame new passions, and performances frequently live forever in the memory.

Because of its scale, opera is an expensive artform and fundraising from both individuals and the corporate world, through philanthropy, is a significant focus of our undertakings. Income from Opera Queensland’s Annual Campaign is vital to assist us in continuing to provide accessible opera and music theatre of excellence, throughout the State, to you, our valued audiences, and to the community at large, especially its younger members.

Philanthropic support enables us to continue the development of emerging talent through our Young Artist Program; to expand our Education Program, taking performances to thousands of school children each year; and to provide additional support for our regional activities.

For the 2008 Annual Campaign, we are delighted that the State Government will again match – dollar for dollar – any donations we receive by 30 June 2008, up to $100,000! What’s more, your tax-deductible donation can be directed to the area of your choice.

Please help us continue to deliver extraordinary productions and activities designed to keep this wonderful artform vibrant and vital, by giving as generously as you can.

You can choose how Opera Queensland uses your
tax-deductible donation from one of the below donor programs:

• Support our Young Artists The Young Artist Program offers talented young and emerging performers an invaluable opportunity to refine their professional skills through an intensive 32-week program. For a closer supportive relationship with our Young Artists join our Patron Program, a group of dedicated opera lovers and annual givers. Click here for further information about the Patron Program.

• Education Fund Support OQ’s Education Program, Exploring Opera! and help introduce children and young adults to the artform. Exploring Opera! includes programs for children aged 5–18 years, engaging them with the music, voices and performance of opera. Click here for further information.

• Regional Access As the state opera company we perform to audiences across Queensland. Donating to this fund helps to spread the experience of opera state-wide.

• Supported Access This initiative provides funds to give young and elderly people in disadvantaged circumstances the opportunity to attend an opera free of charge.

• Artform Development Fund This fund helps us to continue to provide world-class opera and music theatre and contribute to the development of the artform.
